"War against terror" .. "We will not take it again" ... "India is not weak"
Does this ring a bell.......... Yes they do....these were the chants heard during and after the Mumbai terror attacks...Oh wait ! Actually these where heard everytime there was an attack
There was anger..rage..fire burning within to bring down these terrorists...to fight against these unethical elements of society. Where is the fire? Who put down the fire?
Did we actually remove these terrorists? Did we win the war? Did we fight?
Chanting slogans against politicians was easy. But what did that very same common man who walked the streets of metro cities screaming at the top of their voices against the system finally do about this war?
Do you know where the war starts. It starts within us. We have to fight that “chalta hai” attitude which prevails within us and puts that rage within us to sleep.
We have to improve our methods first and make sure that we behave as responsible citizens. What right do we have to pin point leaders when we do not follow the right path?
Now even if we set this point of -checking ourselves first- aside for some time and coming back to the earlier question on what have we done to fight back?
Ans:We said prayers-I say thoughtful and…
Ans: We took an oath to fight back- I say good and..
Ans: We found fault in the system- I say as always and…
Ans: We came together as a nation and showed resentment to the attacks-I say great and…
And then a pause. A blank face. No answers then.
This is where we lost the battle. This is an honest request to all Indians(please note all-not just two or three groups nationwide), rather to all people on face of earth. Please don’t put the anger to sleep because you find no one else around you doing anything. Make an endeavor, you will find many who would want to accompany you.
Yes its true that after every attack the common man's anger rise and he shout his heart out and pledge to the government to do do somthing and as the time passes and the common man's voice fail to bell the deaf ears of our bureaucrats, the common returns to their daily life and get into that chalta hai attitude. This is why the are called the common, the common man canot drive him self out of his daily schedule at his own, he need someone to guide him ,to lead him and stir their anger the way want it to be.
ReplyDeleteThat is why we have our government, the police system ,the army system, the beauracracy in place. The common has given the onus to lead them to these so called our netas. These netas has ditched the common man. But this is time for the common man to find their new leader who can take them out of this atrocity of terrorism.
